Post Lake Day Recap

See. I told you there would be one. :)

First, let me just say that Lake Pleasant was beautiful! Couple that with the fact that we off-roaded to the back side of the lake and that we basically had the entire area to ourselves, and the start to my vacation was amazing!!

The lake itself was gorgeous,

There was much relaxing to be had,

and some swimming,

and even the one minor incident with a jumping cactus burr thingy

couldn't take away from the fantabulous (yes, I know that isn't a real word) sunset!

All in all, it was a pretty great day, complete with a lot of great friends. I can't wait to head back. (And I did get in some quality Kindle time...which, by the way, the review is forthcoming, I have completed all of my "taste tests" :))

For now, that's all I've got.

Is It Really Better? Apparently.

Ok, so this morning someone told me that something was "the best thing since sliced bread", (even my mom said such a phrase in the past...see what I mean.) and it got me thinking - is it really?? And then, the next thought, of course is - what makes something better than sliced bread, and why is sliced bread all that great anyway? I mean, really?

So, of course I had to look up Sliced Bread (thank you internet, and wikipedia!). Turns out that Wonder Bread has been creating pre-sliced loaves since about 1928. Crazy, huh? And the term "the best thing since sliced bread", well, that was a part of a marketing campaign set forth by Wonder Bread. So, it just goes to show that brand recognition is indeed a vital part of our culture.

I still find it a little funny though that a food item has that much power...I mean, "the best thing since the steam engine" just doesn't have the same ring to it, does it? Yet the steam engine...arguably a more important creation than pre-sliced bread...I'm just sayin'.

That's all I got. (And, yes, thanks mom...I know that statement is grammatically incorrect...but I like it anyway.)

WOW, I Truly Cannot Believe Some People

Now, it's true that I am no angel...I can't say that I like every single person on the planet, but I am a firm believer in "it's your life, not mine, you can do with it what you want" so long as you don't force your views on me...

Also, I am usually not really a fan of Hannity and Colmes...but this was definitely worthy of putting out there for all to see...the utter...I can't even come up with a good word for this woman...just watch...

There you have it...please pass it on if you feel so compelled...I really don't know about her God, but I am fairly certain that we don't have the same one...maybe that is just me.

Some Suggestions Please

Okay, so this is really to help all of us. I mean, there is at least one person in your life that drains the lifeforce right out of you. It may be someone we work with (as in my case), a loved one, possibly a perfect stranger who you just happen to encounter on a near daily basis...whoever it is, there is someone in your life that drives you absolutely nucking futs! So what I would like to see are some suggestions...what can we do with these people? Like for example tie them to a rocket a la Wyle E. Coyote and send them to the moon...or Jupiter...that would be a fantastic suggestion. Or, perhaps lock them in a room full of howling hungry wolves...hmmm...might be cruel to the wolves though. Well, anyway, you get the idea, so...any suggestions? Please...comment away!
